Frequently asked questions
An AI-powered manuscript refers to a work that is either AI-generated, AI-assisted, or a combination of both. These manuscripts are developed with the help of AI tools at various stages of the writing process.
Authors may start with prompts or ideas, write most of the content themselves, or rely on AI to enhance elements such as structure, plot, and language—or even do the reverse, shaping and refining AI-generated drafts with their own voice and insights.
To ensure originality, readability, and to avoid plagiarism, we strongly recommend that authors actively contribute to and shape their manuscript—treating AI as a creative companion rather than a shortcut. Ethical use of AI not only upholds the integrity of the work but also ensures it resonates meaningfully with readers.
We’re proud to be the first in India to draw a clear line in the literary space—turning the grey area of AI-generated works into something transparent, ethical, and full of possibility.
At Penaime, we believe AI-powered literature is not here to replace traditional writing but to stand alongside it—as a tool that empowers, uplifts, and opens new doors for storytellers who might otherwise be held back. Whether it’s overcoming writer’s block, spending endless hours researching unfamiliar topics, or fearing rejection from traditional publishers—AI can help bridge those gaps when used responsibly.
This is not just about experimenting with tech. It’s about giving a space to those who have great ideas but struggle with structure, flow, or language. We’re here to support writers who choose to use AI as a creative companion—not as a shortcut, but as a catalyst.
By being open about the tools used, crediting the role of AI, and scaling transparency—we believe we’re not just publishing books. We’re setting a standard. And for those who always felt caught between being a storyteller and a writer—we want you to know: your stories matter. This is your space.
Yes—as long as there is honesty and transparency, it is absolutely ethical to publish AI-generated or AI-assisted works.
At Penaime, we emphasize that authors must clearly disclose the extent of AI involvement—whether the book is entirely generated, co-written, or assisted by AI. This helps set the right expectations for readers and maintains the integrity of the publishing process. AI is a powerful creative tool, but it is not a replacement for the author’s vision or voice.
We do not consider AI-generated manuscripts eligible for copyright under the author's name, as it is currently impossible to accurately scale and validate human versus AI contribution. Therefore, such works are published under a "no reproduction without publisher and author consent" clause, to prevent misuse, while acknowledging that the content is not traditionally copyrightable.
In short: Use AI as a creative partner, acknowledge it openly, and never pass off unoriginal or plagiarized content as your own. That’s the ethical way forward—and that’s how we publish.
Transparency is at the heart of our process. If your manuscript was created with the support of AI tools—whether fully, partially, or simply to enhance your work—you must clearly disclose it at the time of submission.
Please include:
Which AI tools were used (e.g., ChatGPT, Sudowrite, Grammarly, etc.)
At what stage they were used (ideation, drafting, editing, etc.)
An approximate percentage of AI involvement in the overall work
We classify AI-supported manuscripts into three categories:
Primarily AI-generated – more than 50% of the content
Co-created with AI – less than 50% AI involvement
AI-assisted – AI was only used for idea generation, language polishing, or editing—not for content creation
Your manuscript will be labeled accordingly with a category-specific sticker, allowing readers to understand the nature of the creation.
We trust you to be completely honest. Any attempt to misrepresent the involvement of AI, submit plagiarized content, or provide false information will result in immediate disqualification—both for the current manuscript and any future submissions. In such cases, Penaime will not be held liable; the responsibility lies solely with the author.
At Penaime, we proudly support the creative possibilities AI can offer—but only when used ethically, transparently, and with the integrity that literature truly deserves.
At PenAime, we exclusively publish AI-powered works. Your manuscript must involve the use of AI—whether it is primarily AI-generated, co-created, or AI-assisted. This is a core submission requirement.
We do not accept manuscripts created solely by human authors without any AI involvement. If you are a traditional writer committed to fully human-authored literature, PenAime may not be the right publishing space for your work.
That said, we deeply respect the craft of traditional storytelling and the authors who carry that legacy forward. For those writers, we have thoughtfully curated a list of trusted, author-friendly publishing houses that may better align with your approach. You can explore them
